Tuesdays POD was Portland and San Antonio. Score ending with a Spurs V at 106-97 it was close between bstrds and diegohustla, but diegohustla wins with his guess of 105-91. 1 point off is great handicapping!

First thing, lets clean up the MLB WS RUN Total winner. With a 4 game sweep, Red Legs score 29 runs and Rockies 10 for a total of 39. Guesses were all over the board, but nailing down point winners I have a 3-way tie. With Smartguy 12marty12 and his 38 runs, zorp4u and his 40 runs and jon with his 40 runs all three tie for last of October Classic points. As I stated, NBX is gonna toss a hat in for the winner, but I have yet to hear from the powers that be if 3 were part of the deal. Sad note on the Horses, I really love the Sport and Glamour of it all and really hate to see such a beautiful animal break down as happened in the Classic. As my dad raced cheap horses they do become quite attached to the owners. But I would much rather see then put down than pulling a M. Vick on his dogs.

A serious note. As I was watching the evening National news tonight, things in SO. CAL. are getting really bad with the fires. Lets hope they get some rain to help contain these. I have only been to San Diego once and its a really neat town. I will take my chances with tornadoes here in the Mid-west..at least we get a warning...usually.

As i was reading the local fishwraps online sports section tonight, their POP UP POLL...only for readers enjoyment was....Is the BCS working? yes,no not sure or i have opinion....In the Hosts mind the answer is ....screw the polls...let the pollsters get a frigging job and games will be figured out on the field. After all NCAAFB D1 is all about the $$$$ or else there would already be a play-off system in place. Shit it works in EVERY other College sport...why is big -time football different?

After a weekend on the pitch with over 75 youth soccer teams in a tourney, I am QUITE ready to regain some sanity. Now I know Soccer may not be a sport in some of you Wiseguys books, but after spending 15+ years involved Commish loves it!

Welcome to the PLAY OF THE DAY
The Play Of The Day is run by NBX player and Wiseguy commish422. Every day you have a chance to name the winner of a designated game and get closest to the points total. Do that, and you can win an extra 10,000 pts. Good luck!
Play-of-the-Day Rules
1. You must pick the winner correctly to be in the running for the 10,000 points. Pick the winner wrong and you are automatically out for that game.
2. Out of those that correctly picked the winner, the one who guessed the winning teams score closest to the real point total they had, whether it be over or under that total, is the winner.
3. If two or more people tie for the winning teams score total, it goes to the losing teams total score, with the same rules in effect.
4. If two or more people are still tied after going through the winning and losing teams individual score totals, the final tiebreaker is the total points scored. Closest to this total is the winner. If there is still a tie, we have a tie for the contest and mulitple winners.
5. There is to be NO WHINING about this contest. If you don't like the way that it is being run, you don't have to enter it. This is a contest that was started to be fun and give everyone a chance to get some extra points, so let's have it be that way.
6. The judge cannot be entered in the contest, nor does he care who wins or loses. There will be NO favoritism shown by him in this contest.
7. Do NOT ask the judge how many people have the game as the over or the under or how many people have taken one team or the other. All of these questions will be ignored. This contest is not to be used to help someone ascertain how to bet on a particular game.
8. Once you make your pick and send it in, don't even think of changing it. A bet layed is a bet played.
