Monday Night Light Football

Good Lord, that was a bad football game to watch tonight.  I don't think the NFL Network will replay either that game or the Baltimore/Cincinnati game.  But it was your Play of the Day nonetheless.  And the winner of the points was bstrds, who picked it Seattle 24-13.  But you gave the Niners way too much credit, as the final was 24-0.
...
Now, away from sports for a moment...to reflect on Veterans Day.  A Los Angeles' TV station just aired the story of someone they headlined as a local hero, retired Marine Sgt. Marco Martinez, who was sent to Iraq.  After his squad leader and another soldier were wounded, Martinez ran and grabbed a discarded rocket-propelled grenade launcher under enemy fire.  While attempting to fix the launcher so that he could fire it, his squad took on even more enemy fire. Martinez wanted to get the wounded to medical aid. Running towards the direction of the enemy fire, Martinez began firing his gun and threw a grenade in the direction the gunfire was coming from. That gave him time enough to get the wounded medical help.  During the interview, Martinez said that he really didn't feel very comfortable with all the fuss about what he did to save the lives of his fellow soldiers. He said "...because if I hadn't done it, someone else would have."
...

Now back to the Tuesday Play of the Day..and back to football for Toledo @ Ball State.  Get your picks in.  It has to be a better game than Monday Night Football was.
...
Good luck,
Mr. Truth

Welcome to the PLAY OF THE DAY

The Play Of The Day is run by NBX player and Wiseguy commish422. Every day you have a chance to name the winner of a designated game and get closest to the points total. Do that, and you can win an extra 10,000 pts. Good luck!

Play-of-the-Day Rules

1. You must pick the winner correctly to be in the running for the 10,000 points. Pick the winner wrong and you are automatically out for that game.

2. Out of those that correctly picked the winner, the one who guessed the winning teams score closest to the real point total they had, whether it be over or under that total, is the winner.

3. If two or more people tie for the winning teams score total, it goes to the losing teams total score, with the same rules in effect.

4. If two or more people are still tied after going through the winning and losing teams individual score totals, the final tiebreaker is the total points scored. Closest to this total is the winner. If there is still a tie, we have a tie for the contest and mulitple winners.

5. There is to be NO WHINING about this contest. If you don't like the way that it is being run, you don't have to enter it. This is a contest that was started to be fun and give everyone a chance to get some extra points, so let's have it be that way.

6. The judge cannot be entered in the contest, nor does he care who wins or loses. There will be NO favoritism shown by him in this contest.

7. Do NOT ask the judge how many people have the game as the over or the under or how many people have taken one team or the other. All of these questions will be ignored. This contest is not to be used to help someone ascertain how to bet on a particular game.

8. Once you make your pick and send it in, don't even think of changing it. A bet layed is a bet played.
