Jan 1st the NHL will make its nationwide TV debut with an outdoor game in Buffalo. I like this idea, as I grew up playing hockey outside. Can't skate a lick now, but anything to expose this is awesome, at least in my mind. Tune in...should be pretty cool. My only question is will the Zamboni driver be able to see the rink with the expected snow and wind?

I must correct myself from last nights blog on the College Bowl Contest as it seems my math was terrible. FOR 12-31, a seperate contest for 10k will be....USE ALL NCAAFB GAMES ON 12-31. What I want is the difference in scores. As My example was if team ABC wins 34-10....the difference is 24...NOT 14. Total up what you feel the Combined WINNING MARGIN WILL BE and fire me that.

Please do not feel alone. Send a note to support@nbx.com, not my POD email as I am no more that a bad blogger here, I have NO power to correct errors within the NBX website, nor am I a Paid Employee. As this has become a weekend event here at NBX, perhaps it's time they look at the servers they use. Sorry NBX, but I am as frustrated as are all NBX'ers. Games not posted to bet, scores not updated, error issues and the like are just not acceptable even for a FREE SIGHT! How can I in good faith promote this site when things will not work???

Not to forget the NFL Pats, as they somehow pulled off the win tonight, ending the season 16-0. Gotta give mad props to them...cheaters or not{and Im not yet convinced they did anything different than any other team}. Can they topple the egotistical 72 Dolphins??? I hope so, as I was having my coffee this morning ESPN had Shula and Morris on Game-day down-grading the Pats....TURN THE FUCKING PAGE GUYS....YOUR DAY HAS COME AND GONE! For what it;'s worth the first winner of Saturday's POD was extreme469. His score in the UCF/MISS. ST game was closest in this Bowl fiasco. Second game Saturday was a game not posted by NBX, that being Penn St and Texas A and M. As you most likely had a winner I think all of you Junkies should get a 10k bonus, but thats not in my power. So the winner was dream1er....about time!

It seems that a member of the A and M Yell Squad mocked Penn ST Joe Paterno by telling the crowd at a pep rally that the 81 year old coach needs a casket, and was on his death bed. All in good fun when you are college age, but thats really over the line. Whats next, sending a Jenny Craig Diet to the KSU football coach? Now I could find the humor in this if the YELL Squad member questioned JOPA's eyesight...I mean come on you have all seen those popbottle glasses he wears. Or even his choice in clothing, but this was over the edge....

The NFL issued a 75k fine to the Raiders DT Warren Sapp today for his confrontation last week. As I have watched MR Sapp his entire career, I must admit that I am quite surprised that he still has a job. The man is a walking TIME_BOMB! Gotta wonder if he has ever been tested for Roids? This is by no means his only fine, as he was nailed with a 50k one when he was with Tampa. Raider Naition...REACT!

Thursday's POD was the Holliday Bowl, and the Longhorns od Texas really smoked the Pac-10 AZ. ST Sundevils 52-34. None of you Dickweeds were close to this score, but comining near enough was Maximum Carnage for 10k.
Friday Im gonna stick with College Bowls and useMARYLAND AND OREGON ST.

In an announcement earlier today, the NFL said that the New England, NY Giants will be televised for the entire Country to see, not just those that have the NFL Network. Will you watch...I know I will. I have now changed my tune and am rooting for the undefeated season. Will it happen? I now give the odds at better that 5-1 in favor.

With the After-Xmas POD being in the NHL, just because the Stars are in fact one of my favorite teams and its my forum the Stars and Wild played a Wild game, with Dallas kicking the Wild 8-3. As usual with hockey, there was a tie for the NBX Bonus, that being that godevils2001 and extreme469 score 10 k for their Classic account. Study up on NCAA BOWLS, as my second Bowl contest will involve ALL games on the 31st. What I will be looking for on this one is not total points, but MARGIN OF VICTORY. For example, if Team ABC wins by 17 over TEAM XZY, that total is...DUH!!! 17

Yes I am quite aware that Tennis isn't a sport offered on NBX. BUT The ATP has chosen to sanction 2 Italian players for betting on matches. Pottico Starace was suspended for 6 weeks and fined 30,000..all over 5 bets for a total of $130.00 2 years ago. Daniele Bracciali was banned for 3 months and fined 20,000 for bets as little as 7.00 from 2004-2005. I applaud the ATP for policing their organization..this will make big in-roads into the Cheating scandal involving Pro Tennis...Right! Losers...get real!

Saturday's first POd was the New Mexico Bowl...won by Drum roll Please....New Mexico 23-0. Just a terrible performance by Nevada...but then Nebraska beat the snot out of them. Coming closest to the score was Maximum Carnage. More free points in your stocking sir!
The second contest was the Las Vegas Bowl, BYU and UCLA. A more enteraining game won with a blocked field goal with no time was BYU at 17-16. With the closest guess, and they were all over creation was Cubasaurus. See above for your bonus!

Saturdays Vegas Bowl also brings to a close the First of my College Contests. Total points scored in the 5 selected Bowls was 245. Coming closest to this with a total of 258 was wiseguy dream1er for 10k in free points. The second contest will be put out Monday, and it will have a different concept.

Welcome to the PLAY OF THE DAY
The Play Of The Day is run by NBX player and Wiseguy commish422. Every day you have a chance to name the winner of a designated game and get closest to the points total. Do that, and you can win an extra 10,000 pts. Good luck!
Play-of-the-Day Rules
1. You must pick the winner correctly to be in the running for the 10,000 points. Pick the winner wrong and you are automatically out for that game.
2. Out of those that correctly picked the winner, the one who guessed the winning teams score closest to the real point total they had, whether it be over or under that total, is the winner.
3. If two or more people tie for the winning teams score total, it goes to the losing teams total score, with the same rules in effect.
4. If two or more people are still tied after going through the winning and losing teams individual score totals, the final tiebreaker is the total points scored. Closest to this total is the winner. If there is still a tie, we have a tie for the contest and mulitple winners.
5. There is to be NO WHINING about this contest. If you don't like the way that it is being run, you don't have to enter it. This is a contest that was started to be fun and give everyone a chance to get some extra points, so let's have it be that way.
6. The judge cannot be entered in the contest, nor does he care who wins or loses. There will be NO favoritism shown by him in this contest.
7. Do NOT ask the judge how many people have the game as the over or the under or how many people have taken one team or the other. All of these questions will be ignored. This contest is not to be used to help someone ascertain how to bet on a particular game.
8. Once you make your pick and send it in, don't even think of changing it. A bet layed is a bet played.
